Yes, the light-headedness usually occurs in the beginning of the breathing. but it’s very short-lived if you continue with the breathing pattern. If you’re new to this type of breathwork, it’s very common to experience tingly sensations or numbness in your hands, feet or face. If the sensations become too intense, you can always take a break and come back to the breathing or take the breath more shallow or slow. As you continue on your breathwork journey, this experience will most always go away. I like to think of it as stuck energy being released from the body. It’s most helpful to surrender to the process and trust the healing that’s occurring, but if the experience remains consistent with your practice it can also be due to a lack of minerals in the body.

I always recommend feeling into what would support you the most. If you’re called to practice daily, I might recommend a shorter session, especially if it’s still fairly new to you (10-15 min). Breathwork helps to regulate your nervous system, hormones and general emotional and physical state. The longer meditations will take you deeper into releasing stuck energies and and the spiritual realm. You can find longer breathwork meditations geared towards healing emotional patterns, accessing intuition, clearing subconscious blocks, etc. in my newest program Beyond Form or shorter guided processes in the monthly portal for only $22/month.

Again, I always defer you back to yourself (your greatest guide!). Breathwork will bring up what’s wanting to be released and shifted. Although there are some general consistencies with where we physically hold emotions and memories, every body is different. If you were to guess, what might you have been holding in that area? What did it feel like was being released? Trust any memories that popped up or inclinations you have. If you still feel like there’s emotion or energy to be processed, try to not focus on the physical aspect and instead try to surrender and trust your body’s innate ability to heal. You can try on any of these inquiries: “How is this here for me? How is this here to guide me to my expansion? What conditioned perceptions do I need to release around this? How can I serve my body/heart/soul?”

YES. This particular breathing process allows for a deep state of surrender and relaxation. In addition to the ego mind being at rest and the brain being in a deep theta state, we’re also stimulating the pineal gland, which is known to be a gateway to the ethereal realms. It’s very common to be able to communicate with loved ones who have transitioned or to resonate with clear insight from your soul and higher consciousness. Know that your intuitive self is your most natural self and the more you practice, the more open your intuition will become. When we stimulate our autonomic nervous system, we support the body in releasing stuck energy on its own. Keep in mind that whatever comes up is asking to be felt, processed and shifted. Emotions are truly the gateway to our healing and most expanded expression - we just have to invite them forward to be heard. When we suppress our emotions we experience things like anxiety, depression and even physical sickness. Breathwork is a great tool to help create space for emotions that need our presence and attention. Instead of trying to ‘get rid’ of unwanted emotions, consider your emotions as ‘energetic feedback’ letting you know where you stand in relation to your inherent, harmonious self (the soul) and our conditioned, fabricated self (the ego). You may find it helpful to go into your breathwork session being willing to feel and understand any emotions so that you can move into the greater wisdom they truly carry. You can set the intention of being willing to see any untruth(s) or conditioned belief(s) you may be upholding that uphold your emotions or experience and asking to see the greater lesson, wisdom or purpose that’s presenting beyond the surface.

Yes. When you’ve “moved out” enough of the stuck energy, the physical and/or emotional sensations will subside. If things feel too intense during any breathwork session, you can always take more shallow, slow breaths or take a couple breaks by coming back to a normal breath and jumping back in when you’re ready. If you feel intense afterwards, take extra time to integrate. Honor the shifts that occur and trust your intuition. Ask your body what it needs - and even what your emotions have to say! Breathwork can deeply connect you with your body, emotional intelligence, intuition and ability to self-heal.

No. Breathwork is just one modality Bree offers within her training programs, membership and classes but she does not certify others. Bree took her training with David Elliott and Danielle Herring. Finding the right breathwork teacher (and/or facilitator) is a unique and individual experience. For example, Bree had been facilitating groups and healing classes for several years so she felt the shorter training was perfect and resonated with David’s approach and method. It’s important to consider your specific needs when looking for any teacher.

As with anything, please consult your doctor/birth professionals if you have hesitations or concerns. This is not medical advice. While pregnancy is different for everyone, most care is recommended during your first trimester. In general, if certain practices are already consistent in your routine (whether it's yoga, running, breathwork, etc.) there shouldn’t be any cause for concern. We've had women at all stages of pregnancy partake in sessions. If you do decide to participate, we recommend going easy and trusting your body's intuition as you move through your personal journey in ushering in new life!
